A Comparative Study:Parents and Children Relationship in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Thomas Hardy’s The Return   of the Native.


Literature Review:

          Jane Austen (16 December 1775-18 July 1817) was an English novelist known primarily for her six major novels which interpret , critique and comment upon the British landed gentry at the end of the century . Austen’s plot often explore the dependence of women on marriage in the pursuit of favourable social standing and economic security. She use of biting irony,along with  her realism and social commentary. Including, pride and Prejudice is novel of manners and literary classic . Jane Austen’s critique the novel of sensibility of the second half of the 18th century and are part of the tradition to 19th century literary realism. However, many researchers make articles on Pride and Prejudice  Jane Austen’s. Some of famouse articles are given bellow:

       Hui -CHANG in his article “The impact of the Feminist Heroine: Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice” says that The feminist view found in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is well-supported in literary criticism yet little discussion has focused on Elizabeth’s feminism.

       Xueqing Wang in his article “the 19th  century women’s social condition in Pride and Prejudice” discusus that women are only depend on man. In this century, man think that women are psycological and sexual  reality in this novel. It has focused on women are bunden in this society.

       Feifei  Pei (2014) in his article “ views on Marriage in Pride and Prejudice “ shows that view of marriage in 19th century. The views have some guiding significance  to our modern even now.

      Haiyan  Geo  on his article “ Jane Austen’s Ideal Man in Pride and Prejudice”  portryal of women is colorful and glittering .  The panoramic view of female figures in man-dominted world, and the  ture description of inside-track examination of womankind, attracts eternal attention.
