This document presents the report of the organization study conducted by the author at KOFL (Krishnapatanam Oils & Fats Pvt Ltd.), SPSR Nellore. The study was intended to understand the organizational structure, dynamics, relations, systems and practices within the organization and thereby achieve fundamental knowledge about the industry and thereby get prepared to adapt with the course structure at Christ University.

The author spent one month at KOFL that helped him to see the functions of an organization in closer view. This also helped him to feel the warmth of an industry which performs in a good manner. The time he could spend with the employees at KEC was also a great achievement, as it helped the maximum to learn many things from the conversation. Being very senior employees, they shared lot many valuable details also.

Another major achievement is that KOFL is a company running on profits, having some sort of systems coupled with high unionisation. It was interesting to learn the difference between the tone and words use by trade union leaders and the managers of the company on same matter. This was also a great learning for the author.

In addition to this the author also got opportunity to meet the Chairman to KOFL, a man with sharp vision and explicit clarity of thought. This was also a nice experience to listen to a man with a great mission in mind, to take KOFL back to its one time market superiority. Being a person with more than five decades of experience in the industry, he shared his views in a critical mood in a positive manner.

The study actually had two faces, where one is oriented towards visiting the company, collecting the data and interpreting it and the second one is to learn from text books and connect it to the observation we do during the study. While doing this it is highly important to have a high level thinking during the process of observation.
