There is no formal communication among the employees. The relationship between the manager and the staffs were more to a ‘friend-like’ relationship. As said by the manager, he believes that this can lead to a stronger bond of relationship between each other. Therefore, employees will feel more comfortable to communicate with manager. Although it’s a ‘friend-like’ relationship, but the staffs were still behave themselves towards manager with respect. A daily staff briefing will be given by the manager through a written notice on a notice board. Every employee is required to check the updates of notice board every morning before operating business. The director of Shakespeare Boulangerie & Patisserie will be giving new updates of the company to the manager through a weekly meeting at their main office which located at Kuala Lumpur. Sometimes, the director might also pass a message to the manager through a phone call or e-mail.

On the other hand, Shakespeare Boulangerie & Patisserie communicates with their customers by interacting and having a small chat with the customers in the café and bakery. As Shakespeare Boulangerie & Patisserie serves food and beverage, quality of the food and beverage and services provided by employees are the most important aspects to excel. They will need to fulfill the customer’s need in order to maintain a good and permanent relationship with the customers. The employees preserve their good attitude and greeting the customers with putting a smile on their faces.

Besides that, Shakespeare Boulangerie & Patisserie will also communicate with their existing customers or potential customers through social network such as Facebook, where they reply their customer’s or potential customer’s questionnaire as shown in Figure 6.0. Their Facebook page is also act as a platform to assemble their feedback and comments from the customers to further improve their services. Aside from that, Shakespeare Boulangerie & Patisserie Facebook page will also updated with their latest promotion or activities to stay connect with customers which shown in Figure 7.0 and 8.0.
