Introduction 

L’Oréal is a French company specialising in the manufacturing of beauty and cosmetic products. In addition the manufacture of said products, L’Oréal also lead their campaign with the intention of inspiring a global confidence in women. The focus of L’Oréal’s hair care product, ‘L’Oréal Elvive Extraordinary Oil’ is to simply revitalise all hair types and evoke a sense of luxury regarding the usage of this product. The intention of this report is to gain a further understanding of the client and said product by disclosing certain aspects of L’Oréal’s Elvive Extraordinary Oil. This report was conducted through the utilisation of secondary research. Additionally the objective of this report is to provide the information which might have possibly influenced the decision-making process of how the client intended to market this product.

Client Background

L’Oréal founded in France during the year of 1909 as a hair care company specialising in hair dye. An eager French man by the name of Eugene Schueller was the soul creator of this company, hiring three professional chemists to join the L’Oréal team in the year of 1919 to further develop the company’s product offering. To date, L’Oréal’s profile currently attend to body and skin care, make up, hair styling, men and their foundational line of hair colour permanents.  As well as the vast improvement in product offerings, L’Oréal are now an international company owning various cosmetic companies such as Garnier and Maybelline. L’Oréal intend to seize the possibility of every market, hence the initiative to distribute their products globally. 2011 initiated the commencement of a new chairman and CEO, Jean Paul Agon who is presently leading L’Oréal to further accomplishments.

Product Offering

Winner of the Beauty Heaven 2013’s best in beauty, L’Oréal’s Elvive Extraordinary Oil is a hair product which as suggested in the name of the oil, is quite extraordinary. As a concoction of six flower oils, the replenishing hair product caters to every hair type; resulting in lavish hair. Along with the extraordinary oil, L’Oréal Elvive provide three other hair care products which as stated on the advertisement, can be used as a routine for lush, healthy hair.
