From this figure cited from https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/12/05/climate/greenland-ice-melting.html, the blue hole is the ocean what that flows to the sea from the glacier beacause of the accelerated melting of glaciers. It is a satellite imagery of Greenland by DigitalGlobe via Laurence Smith at the University of California, Los Angeles.

This figure is also cited from the New York Times. It was collected by the European Space Agency Climate Change Initiative. The x-coordinate is the change of year and the y-coordinate is the change of ice sheet mass. From it, it is clear to see that  the ice sheet mass in Greenland diminishes gradually year by year from 2002 to 2017. [pic 2]

After the analyzing of the two figures, the glacier is gradually melting, which is caused by human-induced climate change. In the past decades, there exists sorts of proves which present that the climate change has a great impact on the environmental changes except the glacier melting. When the global temperatures rise, more ice melts and ocean water gets warm and expands gradually. This accumulated effects have played the most important role in raising average global sea level in the past hundreds of years. The rising sea level yields powerful effects on people who lives close to the coasts in the world. If the sea level is still rising, it may cause terrible catastrophe. From this course, I got that the climate change is alteration in the long-term patterns and statistical averages of meteorological events. The climate change has a great impact not only on people’s life, but also on the environment of the creatures that can not adapted to nowaday’s environment. Therefore, people from all over the world should focuse on this issue seriously.
