Abstract

The purpose of this research is to treasure out the impact of Project Planning and Project Monitoring on Project Success with the moderating role of Project Complexity. The research instructs the improvements in the key and weighty aspect of project management which is project success and building up its bond with Project planning, Project monitoring and Project Complexity. It also defines theory structure for specifying set of hypothesis. The questionnaire method was used to collect the data from the management level of private sectors companies/firms of Rawalpindi and Islamabad Pakistan. The findings of the research provided detailed support for the proposed relationship between Project planning, Project monitoring and Project complexity and their impact on project success whose relationship is not yet crystallized. Questionnaire was distributed among the project managers and their team members of private sector organizations. Respondents of the respective organization served as sample. Final sample comprised of n= 250. Findings of this research indicated that, the Project planning, Project monitoring behavior of project manager and his/her monitoring would motivate the subordinates to participate efficiently and is directly proportional to get project success. Results of this research study provided a direction to the project managers that they should know value of planning and monitoring of complex projects on their project success and enhance their ability how to plan and monitor  complex projects. The study provided valuable information for researchers, project managers and general organizations equally.

Project planning and monitoring are the essential points toward project success in any kind of projects. Project complexity can overcome through good project planning and monitoring. If in the project the planning and monitoring are not considered importantly and on time so simple project also goes toward complexity and result as project failure. So for success in the project the project manager must plan and monitor each aspect in the whole project life cycle.
