Project Plan and Research Plan

The following tasks are taken from our Gate 1 report regarding the work Breakdown Structure that we initially had organized to reach our goals. The requirement for this section is explaining what has been completed according to the schedule and any explanations of issues that may have come up leading to delays in following tasks. We would also like to state that we had a meeting with Vera Barton about our project and discussed that our main contact we were communicating with Kyle, at the Whitby Chamber became unexpectedly unavailable and if this affected our project deadlines at all. However, our new mediator Amanda was well aware of our information and structure we have had planned due to the collaboration with Kyle before he left the Chamber. We would like to state that we recently held a meeting with Amanda to make sure she was up to speed with our findings and we were all on the same page with regards to our Capstone project.

As a group, our communication with each other has been key and  our eagerness to stay on our initial  project plan has been performed with diligence. So far in regards to task 1 and 2, we have excelled in this element. The creation of our questions for the web developer along with our scheduled meeting was used to  clarify concerns which went according to plan. The developer was able to express any issues regarding to the programming parameters of what can or can not be done, and the best means to organize and structure the website. This allows us to focus on certain guidelines and requirements in relation to our employers  needs to align them with the developers suggestions of programming.

As  mentioned previously we had an issue trying to contact our initial mediator at the Commerce. This is in regards to task 3 which is sending out the approved questionnaire for Chamber members to fill out. This instance has created a ripple down effect to the following tasks up to number 10. However, we had a meeting with the new mediator Amanda on Tuesday February 9 to go over the survey questions and she will be sending them out to the members through their weekly newsletter. We are going to give the Chamber members about a week to complete the survey and then we will be focussing on the new tasks.  During our last meeting we also spoke with Brenda about her role as office manager. This was unplanned so it was not put into our project plan. Brenda was able to tell us how she uses Chamber Master and how she inputs data such as job listings, announcements, newsletters and calendar updates which is then transferred over to their website. She also discussed with us the pros and cons of the coalition between Chamber Masters and the website. This data has provided to be helpful because she is a main contributor that actually has involvement with the information displayed on the website.
