QNT/561

September 11, 2016

Since 1982, Ross Stores has focused on high-quality brands while providing an easy, fun, and organized shopping experience for their customers. Ross Stores is the biggest off-price retail chain in the nation that offers a great deal for their consumers. It sells the latest styles and brands at a lower price, keeping things simple and delivering new products almost every day. Ross stores are recognized for their giving back to the communities such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of America (Ross Dress for Less, 2016). Ross Stores is a company making wise decisions for the consumer but on the inside the company is having major issues with their employees. One of the biggest business problems faced by the organization is their high rate of turnover. The team will determine the cause of the high turnover which has been found to be highest within the first 2 years of employment with the company.

One of the biggest business problems faced by the organization is their high rate of turnover. The company has found themselves in a situation where attrition has climbed to a level that can cause potential harm to the business. The team has determined that the best way to research the increasing turnover rates is to conduct an anonymous online survey. The survey is designed to target a random sample of employees regardless of their position in the organization using the stratified sampling method. A total of 24 Ross Dress for Less stores has been reviewed, with the lowest turnover rate of 0 and the highest of 63 per store.  By adding up all numbers from each store and dividing it by the number of stores we get an average, or mean number, of 26.5

Data Collection Plan

The Quantitative data collection methods rely on random sampling and structured data collection instruments that fit diverse experiences into predetermined response categories. They produce results that are easy to summarize, compare, and generalize. Quantitative research is concerned with testing hypotheses derived from theory and/or being able to estimate the size of a phenomenon of interest ("Data Collection Methods", 2016). The team incorporated the date collected from the inferential statistics analysis, hypothesis testing, Anova and regression analysis. The data results were then placed into excel for calculations.

Descriptive Statistics
