Job Evaluation at Whole Foods

Whole Foods breaks down their store operations and system into teams. Their teams are grouped and put together by departments. Within each department the teams must work together and perform necessary teamwork with each other. Each team members have their own responsibilities. The team members are responsible of ensuring the operations and store runs smoothly. Whole Foods values the satisfaction of their customers and supporting their team members.

Evaluation of Jobs and Job Structure

With what was given in the case study, I was able to assign job titles and descriptions for each job.

Job A- Prepared Foods Team Member, Customer Service Clerk

Job B- Cashier, Customer Service Clerk

Job C- Prepared Foods Department Team Leader/ Manager

Job D- Prepared Foods Supervisor

Job E- Dishwasher, Kitchen Helper

Job F- Customer Service front End Supervisor

Job G- Prepared Foods Assistant Team Leader/Manager

Job H- Assistant Store Team Leader/Manager

Job I- Grocery Retail Team Member

Whole Foods have been broken up into two different categories. The categories are management and the other being store support. The management teams are the leaders of the store you maintain the well being of the store. There job is to ensure an enforce things are being done correctly and in the right way.

Process, Technology and Factors

The process I went through in preparing the job structure started with identifying the key roles and duties that was indicated in their job descriptions. It was important that I broke down the list of job and identified the knowledge that was desired and required for that particular position. Once I looked over all the positions and decided on what job title will be best for it and how each job should hierarchal ranked. The job titles are based on the descriptions and are reflective of the duties in the position. After comparing the jobs I decided to best job evaluation technique is the job ranking technique.
