Advertising:

Advertising is a form of communication designed to persuade potential customers to choose your product or service over that of a competitor. Successfully advertising iPort will involve making our product and services well known to our target market or those most likely to purchase it. Consistent activity and promotion of our product ensures that we keep the name of our business and the benefits of our product and services in the uppermost part of our consumer’s minds. The objective of advertising is to increase your profit by increasing you sales. Apple with utilize four rules when preparing for upcoming marketing events; aim, target, media, and competitors. Aim focuses on the primary purpose of the advertisement and target will focus on our direct audience. Media will how we chose to advertise and on what platform. Last, and most importantly, understanding our competitions. Effective advertising will catch the attention of a variety of consumers and spark interest to buy. Apple aims to have potential customers crave ownership of the iPort. Successful advertising involves making your products or services positively known to your target audience and likely persuade them to purchase. Apples ability to advertise the iPort properly will aid in its long-term success.

Public Relations:

Public relations is using the news or business press to carry positive stories about your company or your products; cultivating a good relationship with local press representatives. Unlike Advertising public relations is not paid for. Information received by reporters, bloggers, or broadcast stations are a direct result of personal use or information gathered by them. Publicity can be more effective than advertising in many ways. It is cost much more cost effective and still reaches a mass market. Apple plans to capitalize on the popularity of social media and use this as a free for publicity for iPort. Consumers will broadcast feature and functionality allowing that to reach a mass-market daily. Heavy promotion on social media can often get the attention of local news or become a popular trend allowing which in turn produces free advertisement. Apple will have a team that will manage our public relations ensuring the image and goal of the iPort is received successfully.
