1.0: INTRODUCTION

Marina Bay Sands is an iconic integrated resort notable for transforming Singapore's city skyline which operated under Las Vegas Sands Corp. It began operations on 27th April 2010 and officially opened on 23rd June 2010.  At the heart of this development is the Marina Bay Sands 5-star luxury hotel, comprises three 55-storey towers of exclusive hotel rooms and luxury suites equipped with personal butler service. In addition, it was crowned by the boat-shaped Sands Skypark on the 57th storey. It accomodates rooftop clubs and restaurants, a public observatory gardens which visitors can enjoy the 360-degree views and the hotel guests can enjoy the breath-taking experience of swimming in one of the world's largest rooftop infinity pool.

MBS reported S$631 million in revenue in its first full quarter and a pre-tax profit of S$315 million. In the following quarter, revenue was S$560.4 million, but pre-tax profit rose to S$390 million. MBS’s financial performance in that second quarter broke LVS’s records in quarterly profit and profit margin, making MBS one of the most profitable properties in the LVS group. During its first year of operations, MBS drew 19.6 million visitors and hosted nearly 2,000 meetings, conventions and exhibitions.

2.1: Political Factors

Singapore has a good reputation of efficient and politically stable government compare to other Asia countries. Singapore's stability of political gives the trust of safe for tourists to visit Singapore. Singapore government has always been in favour of the tourism sector. The government provides social welfare service for hotel industry by establishing the Singapore Hotel Association (SHA) in order to promote their members’ interest with advancing sustainable growth. Their members will have a discount access to all equipments, products and informed of new trends and technology. Marina Bay Sands joined in SHA as a member since 2011.
