Introduction

One thing for certain is that change occurs with an organization. Change is inevitable and within a company, it should be handled carefully. Initiating change is a difficult process to initiate within a company with people who are not so adaptable to change. In any business, change management is a systemic approach to dealing with change, both from the perspective of an organization and on the individual level. For example, there are two images of change, such as management as control versus management as shaping) and three key images of change outcomes (intended, partially intended, and unintended). For the controlling (activities) are the director, navigator, and caretaker. Shaping (capabilities) are the coach, interpreter, and nurturer.

Change management initiatives are aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness and the well being of organizational stakeholders such as customers, employees, and stockholders. In addition, implementing change management initiatives in the organization is necessary because the company must remain competitive in a rapidly evolving economic climate. Since the pace of change in organizations is increasing daily, the better way to understand how organizational change initiatives can be more effective is through a stronger leadership change manager.

The image concepts and application to the change management initiative are important because it shows how the images we hold about how change should be managed, and we think our role should be as a manager of change, affects the way we approach change and the outcomes that we think are possible.

Application Analysis

Green Mountain Resort was not a very popular resort because for one it was small resort with not much to offer only golf, tennis, and some skiing-on machine made snow for the most part-set in the Appalachians. The Green Mountain resort was located in a far distance
