The first question is talking about how you would deal with data theft with a new employee. Data theft is very common in companies. And the new coming employees steal the companies’ information with different goals. So we have to define the extent of different situations.

If the situation is not terrible, I will talk with the employee first and to know why and how he/she did this. And make a punishment and warning to him/her. Let the employees know that this behavior is very bad, but to avoid it effecting the employees’ emotion, I will give him/ her chance to mend a fault. If he/she makes this fault again, I will fait him/her immediately.

If the situation is very terrible, the first step I took is the same as before. After I talk with the employee, I will fair him/ her; because I want the other employees know that this mistake cannot be happened in the future. And I will consider suing him or calling the police based on the employee’s attitude and situation.

Since the employee is a new employee, if he/she doesn’t have the bad record before or he/ she is the first job, I will downplay this event. But his/ her attitude is very bad, and didn’t realize their fault; I will make a notification intra-industry and a report to with his/ her bad behavior.

To avoid data theft, we should pay attention on employees’ ethic study/ training, check and develop companies’ software and hardware. Manage the employees’ benefits and punishment. Build up the loyalty between the employees and company. Reinforce the screening when recruiting new employees.
