Is the United States the Best CounTry On Earth?

United States is the best country on earth for me as Switzerland is the best country in the planet for some Swiss residents. I believe this statement is in the eye of the beholder. I take in consideration the sum of all parts; past, present and where we project the future of the US to be. This includes its inhabitant’s economical, health, literal, educational, social and how pleased they are in their situation, among other things. As per the CIA World Fact Book, Wall Street Journal and other statistical sources, we are not number one at most of the categories I previously mentioned but as a whole, we are doing well. Another factor is the amounts of people that risk everything, separation from loved ones, their way of living and even their lives to come to this country.

To this day, thousands of rich, powerful or people with some means send their children to the US to better learn English and to get an education. Tourism and diversity is high in the US. This country was founded by brave people with strong believes that fought for what they thought was right in order to have freedoms and opportunities for a better life. Since its birth the US has had a huge influence internationally and has dealt with wars, conflicts and peace agreements. If one reads Forbes magazine and searches the richest and most powerful people in the world or the riches celebrities, among other lists (Forbes, 2014) the majority either live in the US or their organization is based here. The US is a very charitable country, its government and people provide billions in aiding nations. As per Mattea Kramer from National Priorities, in 2013 the US provided 23 billion helping more countries. This does not include the money private citizens give to charitable organizations and the money the government spends on military aid (another $14 billion). There’s a reason the United Nations is still headquartered here!
