II. Facts of the Case

Problem

As the number grew excessively, Robin Hood is not able to sustain the needs of his group of Merrymen to revolt against the sheriff.

(Basis: The merrymen are already growing too large, if Robin Hood and the band cannot steal from the rich people, they will suffer from having limited financial resource, thus making them weaker and incapable of facing the sheriff and overthrowing the reign of Prince John.)

Opportunity

An opportunity to build an alliance with the barons.

(Basis: Robin and his men are capable on forming an alliance with the barons for them to defeat the Sheriffs.)

III. Objective

To develop a strategy that would re-establish and achieve their goal of removing Sheriff from authority in Nottingham

(Basis: the villagers are suffering under the corrupt leadership of Prince John as well as his alliance with the Sheriff. They seek for Justice against the present administration. Without the Prince, Sheriff will be weak. Robin will use this opportunity to get rid of the Sheriff.)

IV. Analysis of the Internal Environment

1. Robin Hood’s rapidly increasing band.

- Although it was a source of satisfaction for Robin realizing that his band is stronger in numbers, he also became worry about it. The merrymen lost discipline and suffered from reduced vigilance. Their revenues started to decrease but their food cost continues to increase. He doesn’t recognize half of his group anymore.
