Question 1: Describe your life and work in the field of psychology!

Answer:

I was born in 1856 and spent majority of my lifetime in Austria. I was raised Catholic, but I did not believe in the religious guidance. During the time of my growth as a teenager, I dived into science and became an atheist.

I was very interested in analyzing both mine and others’ dreams. I was trying to find the connection between the physical and psychological world. I had always claimed that there is a link between the two worlds, but none of the other scientists ever accepted my claims. That did not stop me to dive deeper into the observable facets of subconscious, memories and emotions. Many of my discoveries at the beginning were self based. This whole experience let me lay the two claims I am very well known about: the sex drive is the main catalyst of human behavior, and that beliefs in paternalistic religious figures are merely projections of human fears and desires. Following this, I wrote series of essays on sexuality, where I stated that our libido is formed early in the childhood and propels all our desires and impulses.

Question 2: What were your major contributions to the field?

Answer:

Regardless of what others say about my theories, I strongly believe that I have made a huge impact on the field of psychology. I had always claimed that not all mental illnesses have psychological causes. Here are some of my theories that had major contributions:
