My Life Story

Chelsea Davis

9/5/17

My name is Chelsea Nicole Davis.   I am eleven years old.  This is my life story.   My ancestors were African, Native American, and European.   My Native American ancestors were from a tribe called the Choctaw.  My mother is from Alabama, as well as almost all of her side of the family.  My grandfather on my father’s side of the family is also from Alabama.

I was born in Chesapeake, Virginia at the Chesapeake General Hospital on September 20th, 2005 at 9:04 in the morning.  I weighed six pounds and eight ounces.  I was also 18 ½ inches long.  I had lots of hair, and for two days, I had silver-colored eyes. Two days later, my eyes were perfectly brown. I have one brother and one sister before me, and my father always said I looked like my brother as a baby. I was not grumpy as a baby, but my family always teased me and said I used to give everyone a mean look.

I started preschool at the age of three at Hampton University Preschool. In preschool, I was very outgoing and social. By the time I finished preschool, I was four years old, and eager to learn more. I started kindergarten at a private school called Greenbrier Manor. I made tons of friends, and learned new things there. This was also around the time that I learned to swim, which became a huge part in my life. Soon I became a first grader at Greenbrier Primary, where I stayed until second grade. At this point in my life I was six years old, and my imagination was more creative than ever. I was fascinated by mermaids, and more mythical creatures. I gained a passion for writing at this point in my life, which was boosted from my creativity.

I was a third grader in Greenbrier Intermediate School. I was in love with the idea of running track. I always went to my sister’s track meets, and knew that’s what I want to do as soon as I got into middle school, and that’s what I did. In middle school, I started track when I heard they were having tryouts. I made the track team, which made me so incredibly cheerful. I qualified for the Chesapeake city competition, and ended the season overall with a 800m race time of 2:50.

As of today, I started my first day of seventh grade, and I am as happy as I can be.
