When you are studying, there are a few important things to do to help you get the most out of your time. Spending hours on end reading and reviewing notes may leave you confused, tired, frustrated, and feeling like you haven't actually learned anything. Here are a few helpful tips to get learn with maximum efficiency.

1. Always study in the same type of place. Statistics show that when you study in a location similar to the location you will be taking an exam in you will usually get a better grade. So if you take your exams in a desk in class. Try studying at a desk at home or in the library.

2. Never read past a word you do not fully understand. You should keep a dictionary on hand at all times when studying. The thinking behind this is that if you read a sentence with a word you do not understand, you will not comprehend the sentence, causing you to not comprehend the paragraph and the idea that is trying to be conveyed. Even if it is a small common word, you should still take the time to look it up. Once you find the definition use it in sentences until you have a good understanding of what it means. Then reread the sentence and continue on. It sounds like a lot of work, but it will save you a lot of frustration later on.

3. If you are having a hard time with something, try looking up extra information on it. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you aren't getting something or are being bored to tears by the subject matter, try looking for some relevant pictures or diagrams on-line. They will stimulate the creative side of your brain and help you learn more efficiently.

So there you have it. My tips to making the most of your study time. Good luck out there.
