When I was interviewed for the job, I was asked what talents I had that would make me a good person for the job. I told the people interviewing me that I am a good leader, I am very goal oriented and that I am very outgoing and willing to open up to everyone in the community. As a resident assistant, I think that all of those things are very important in becoming a leader and authoritative figure in your community. I guess I have the talents needed for the job because after being interviewed, I got hired. Some more things I think I present to the job is that I am willing to be open to people so that they feel more comfortable opening up to me if they need someone to talk to about grades or just someone to vent to about their home life or their relationship. Another thing that I think helped me get the job is that I have had a job where I was the supervisor over other people around the same age as me. I think that helped me because it shows that I have experience being seen as an authoritative figure for people my age. Something else that probably helped me get the job is that in high school, I was the captain of my football and soccer team during my senior year. That fact probably helped me because it shows that I have experience stepping up and leading people who are around me and that I'm not afraid to stand out and take lead of things. One other thing that might have sold the deal with hiring me is that I am a very outgoing and well spoken person. As a resident assistant, you have to be able to communicate well with all of your residents and be able to talk to them about anything they want to open up to you about.
