Template:

  1. The issue of ……….is a controversial one.  On the one hand,

 (this will be my position).  On the other hand, (the opposing position).

However, in the final analysis, I submit that -………………In this discussion I will present the background reasoning favoring……..

Restate the conclusion.  However, I believe -………….- is only a symptom of a larger issue.  Interpreting-……….- as -……..- fails to recognize three factors.

Critique it by pointing out the weaknesses.  This is accomplished by asking a lot of questions.

The cracks in this logic are hard to ignore.  In this analysis I will present three critical reasons to refute this argument.  

(The argument’s assumptions of -……… are overbroad. Furthermore, concluding -…….. fails to recognize three critical circumstances, factors, variables).  

  1. First, - the assumptions are overbroad.  ……….. It could be viable under the certain conditions, but these can not be assumed.  
  2. Second, - the….is erroneous because the argument doesn’t address the possible show stoppers like …………or …………. (recognize……….)
  3. Finally, - the reason this argument is inconclusive is……(develop)
  4. Game, set, match, put a tombstone on this argument.  The evidence used is myopic and assumes ……….. The argument rests on a cursory cause/effect relationship. However, when additional factors and outcomes are considered, it does not appear valid.  

with further examination this view does not appear valid.  Ultimately, the argument could have been made more compelling if (more) historical examples were provided.
