XP Team was a partnership between Dan Howell and Peter Dea who were associates at Mattson. Although Howell was a culinarian at Mattson, he had experience as a barista having worked at Starbucks in the past. Dea is a food scientist with experience as a confectionist. Barb Stuckey led the second group with a traditional structure, Team Stuckey. Doug Berg was the sounding and project director while Anne Cristofano did the bench work in the group. Dream Team was an online group with outstanding professionals in the food sector. The innovation manager at Mattson, Carol Borba, was Dream Team’s manager and two workers at the company were responsible for the group’s recommendations.

  1. Why did the winning team win the bakeoff?

        The winning team, Team Stuckey, won the bakeoff due to the creativity of its leader, Barb Stuckey. Notably, to make a healthful, good-tasting cookie, Barb made a comparison between a cookie and a tortilla chip. Low-fat tortilla chips have a topical seasoning of sugar, dried cheese powders, and other ingredients that give them an incredible taste. Similarly, Barb suggested that the team’s strawberry-cobbler cookie should have a topical seasoning like that of the low-fat tortilla chips.

  1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of working for a big company for an inventor?

        Working for large companies is advantageous to innovators since they are assured of financial security required when coming up with inventions. For example, RCA provided its engineers with generous research budgets.  Additionally, inventors employed in big companies have adequate time to invent because such firms employ other people to assist the innovators with auxiliary tasks. Innovators are usually engaged in lawsuits but organizations handle the legal issues and enable the inventors to focus on their work.  Failure is common among visionaries and innovators. Therefore, companies shield inventors from miserable lives when they fail by providing them with a pension and an environment to maintain their dignity. The major disadvantage of being hired in a corporation as an inventor is that individuals do not have full control of their inventions.
