Land bankers’ Multipurpose Cooperative

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Landbankers’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative (LANDBANKOOP) was established on May 20, 1992 by regular employees of the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) and is primarily organized for the following purposes:

  • To encourage thrift and savings among the members;
  • To create funds and grant loans to members for productive and providential purposes;
  • To engage in trading of securities, buying and selling of real & personal properties, real-estate development, and insurance tie-ups & other lawful business ventures.
  • To promote the cooperative as a way of life for improving the social and economic well-being of the people;
  • To do any related activity for the members’ self-government, improve social and economic well-being under a truly just democratic society
  • To expand scope by incorporating trading, manufacturing, production and other business undertakings;
  • To undertake other activities for the effective and efficient implementation of the provisions of the Cooperative Code;
  • To expand the scope by incorporating trading, manufacturing, production and other business undertakings.

The main goal for Landbank cooperative is to help improve the quality of life with its members. This creates mobilization of its members to grow bigger and better throughout the years and undeniably, they are one of the biggest cooperative in the country as of today. Together with the help of the Landbank institution, the cooperative has transformed to be a national cooperative with a wide set of membership all over the country.

Its registered address is at Landbank Plaza, 1589 M. H. del Pilar corner Dr. J. Quintos Streets, Malate, Manila. A duly registered institutional-based cooperative owned by current and former (retirees) regular employees of LBP, as well as their relatives within the third degree of consanguinity as associate members. Regular employees of LBP subsidiaries and LandBankoop employees who are members prior to the amendment of the Cooperative’s By-Laws shall remain as members thereof, until their separation from the service or withdrawal or termination of membership. The LandBankoop’s product and services include lending services, time deposit generation, and other income generating activities.

After complying with the requirements of the Article 144 of the Philippines Cooperative Code of 2008 (Republic Act 9520), the Cooperative was issued a new Certificate of Registration by the Cooperative Development Authority on January 18, 2010 under Registration No. 9520-16006269 (CIN -0105160500).

Introduction

LANDBANKOOP, is a cooperative organization designed to serve its members that encourages saving and provides an avenue for easy credit. On top of the common credit services it provides, the cooperative has established programs to enhance the welfare of its members with innovative services such as the provident and welfare fund, to name a few. Throughout the years, membership continues to grow consisting of 1,843 members, along with its continuously soaring profits.
