Introduction

Management mostly focuses on the tactical activities, following the process of planning, organizing, leading and controlling. To solve the problems occurring in the organization effectively, managers need to implement the P-O-L-C function in the day-to-day realities of running an organization. As the division manager of Singapore Hamburger, it is important to get catch up in trying to analyze and understand a complete, clear rational for categorizing skills and practices. In other words, to realize the current trend of food supply chain plays a vital role in establishing an effective business plan. In this assignment, I will use the basic four management functions aiming at accommodating to the change environment.

Planning

Planning is establishing organizational goals and deciding how to accomplish them. It is often referred to as the first management function because all other management functions depend on planning. Therefore, to make Hamburger Restaurant meet the customer satisfaction, we need to indentify and select appropriate goals and course of action.

Food sector

Nowadays, people are looking for healthy lifestyle. It brings more challenge to Hamburger Restaurant to follow the trend, as it provides fast food. In Singapore, food security is of greater relevance as they import most of our food. Food supply chains are particularly vulnerable to global food supply and price fluctuations. To change the Hamburger’s unhealthy image in people’s mind, we plan to announce an ambitious sustainability program that will re-examine where its food comes from. The core of the plan will focus on five priority areas as identified in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund: beef, poultry, coffee, palm oil and packaging. The objective of this program is using sustainable sourcing as a means of attracting new customers and gaining the support of farmers and suppliers.

Customer Satisfaction

To dine in the fast food restaurant, speed accounts for a large proportion in customer satisfaction. Speed is increasingly the focus, as Hamburger tries to increase customer satisfaction and gain market share amid an economic slowdown that’s driving people to eat at home. Customer satisfaction involves marketing, as Hamburger identifies the needs and requirements of its consumers in a better way than its competitors.

Marketing and Advertising

Key objectives of advertising are to make people aware of an item, feel positive about it and remember it. To better serve the Singapore area, we will focuses on the two key areas which are promotional advertising and branding advertising.
