Executive Summary

There are many issues in which organisations face from time to time. These issues play a vital role in Human Resource Management and it is important that organisations take the right strategies in order to deal with these issues when faced with them.

The following Media Portfolio is an analysis of three Contemporary Human Resource issues that are faced in organisations today. These issues include offshoring, workplace bullying and, teleworking. Whilst other issues are as important too, to job cutting, employees being bullied and the work/life balance of employees are of vital importance and should be looked at closely in detail.

Introduction

Human Resource Management (HRM) not only plays a vital role in an organisation but is also one of the main functions of an organisation. “HRM refers to those activities undertaken by an organisation to effectively utilise its human resources. (Dowling et.al, 2013, pg. 2).

HRM deals with many contemporary issues that organisations of today are face with. Some of these issues include offshoring, bullying in the work place and teleworking or flexible work practices. These issues deal with job losses of employees in Australia in order to cut costs in organisations, health issues such as psychological problems as a result of bullying and flexible working arrangements for employees.

Contemporary Issue in HRM 1
