Leadership Theory Analysis Discussion Summary

In this week's assignment, we are taking a look at the theory analysis of two different leadership models. Vroom's model of leadership discusses how leaders make very day decisions. Then there is Fiedler's model that speaks about how to choose the right for the particular job needing to be done.

In every workplace no matter the type of work being conducted, there is always a person in charge to oversee the day to day operations. This person in charge is considered to be the leader, and the people appointed below are called the workers. In the video, a head is defined to be a person that is brave in nature and is not scared to stand out above the rest of the company. There are many people that show their traits of great leadership as they get older in life. The other people go through life dealing with and seeing situations unfold and learn how to come up with solutions to those dilemmas.

In the case of Vroom’s model for leadership, he shows us what circumstances cause a leader to make the certain types of decisions. So then what must it take to make the right decisions for the different conditions? In Vrooms look on leadership, there are similarities to that of the models used by Tannenbaum and Schmidt. “Vrooms model there is a series of questions that follow any decision that is to be made by a leader”, (Bateman & Snell, 2011). The reasoning behind the questions being asked is all depending on the how relevant or what the situation Intel's. Vroom's model seems awkward to use in the beginning, once applied and practiced the ability to make those tough decisions becomes easier and easier to do.

In the case of Fiedler's model, it is a bit different than that of Vroom's model. Vroom believes that any person can become a leader as long as they follow the direction in his design and thinks like a leader would think. Fiedler believes that a leader is chosen based upon what the situation
