Big Bag Theory Analysis Of a Farce

In this short paper I intend to present to you two ways in which the Episode of Big Bang Theory represented a Farce comedy. The first of these ways is in the way the entire episode focuses on Sheldon and his rival fighting for an office that once won by Sheldon he no longer wanted but refused to give up for the principle reason that he didn’t want his rival to have it. The second way I intend to show is the scene with the hole in the wall of the new office. Though these are only a couple of examples of how Big Bang Theory represents a farce comedy, they are the two most prominent forms to show how one topic can invoke various types of humor.

The first thing I would like to take a look at is how the competition for the office space sparked many types of comedic responses though out the plot. However the main point I intend to show you is how this competition became its on farce towards the end. Once Sheldon had won the office he found he did not like it for many reasons such as the shaking from the geology lab above him, cold air blasting from the vent due to someone else being in control of the thermostat for his office, and especially the fact that the old professor that had the office before him refused to leave or put on any clothing. It was funny because we had watched Sheldon work so hard to obtain the office only to find that he did not like it once he had gotten it. It became even funnier in a darker way when Sheldon refused to give up the office knowing he did not like it just to keep his rival from having it. Here the thought of Sheldon remaining unhappy in his office to keep his rival from being the winner and possibly being happy in the office is a fine example of how dark human can pop up at any point and continue to flow on into the plot.

This dark human is then carried on and supported by other bits of dark humor throughout the storyline. The scene with
