Rudy

        In the 1993 Film, “Rudy”, the dream of Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger appears to be impossible to achieve. Rudy propagated in a minuscule town in Illinois with a dream to once play for the Irish, the football team of the University of Notre Dame. Everyone thinks Rudy is flippant when he conveys that he wants to play college ball at Notre Dame and automatically ponder that he is crazy. His family believes he will just join the family's business in the local steel mill since he has no chance of making it on the team. Rudy lacks the talent to play on a college team and the size as he is only 5 feet, 7 inches tall, an extremely small structure to work with. Another significant delinquent holding Rudy despondent is his academic knowledge. He was diagnosed with a learning disorder that no one can figure out, but it is a known fact that he indeed has it. He can only join the University Of Notre Dame if his grades are suitable with the college. The method Rudy endeavors to live life is through his drive of Motivation and the Self-confidence he portrays.

        After graduating High School, Rudy is in desperate need for money to save funds for college and takes a job in a local steel mill, to his father's delight. His family jokes around with him, knowing he would join the steel mill because he has no chance with his built to be on a college football team. His best friend, Pete, gives him a University of Notre Dame letterman jacket for his birthday. Rudy is ecstatic and wears the jacket everywhere, in hopes of once joining the football team. After working for four years at the mill, Pete dies from a mill explosion.  After Pete's death, Rudy determines that he is going to play for University of Notre Dame. He decides to ignore all the limits that everyone has put on him and starts his drive of motivation to achieve his dream.

        Despite his tiny framework, Rudy's depiction of striving motivation and determination during football tryouts and practices earns him a spot on the college team he dreamed of, the Irish. He overcame adversity and although he lacked the physical abilities to perform at a high level of football, he used mental skills to overcome his challenges. There are many mental skills displayed in this movie. Rudy is committed profoundly to his dream to play for the University of Notre Dame. The first step of his ambition is to get admitted to the University of Notre Dame. He fails over and over but never gives up. It’s essential for Rudy to attain high grades so one day he can get admitted to the University of Notre Dame. He attempts every way possible to join the University. One day he perceives a worker on the football field and approaches him. He volunteers to work there for free in anticipation of finally starting his route to his dream. Rudy climbs in through a window of the office to sleep every night, having no bed of his own. This worker sees how motivated Rudy is and puts a key on the bed for Rudy to use whenever he wants. Rudy’s mental attitude is what makes him realize his success.
