Electrical Engineering Educational Plant Tour Report
Ateneo De Davao University
The educational plant tour of the Electrical Engineering students of Ateneo de Davao University was held last October 19 – 21 , 2015. This educational plant tour planned to visit different plants all around Cagayan De Oro City. Reiner Travel and Tour Davao Company handled the educational plant tour.
The plant tour started at October 19 , 2015. The assembly time and venue was at 3:00AM, at AdDU’s gate at Roxas avenue. The departure was set at 3:30PM, so that we would arrive at Cagayan de Oro at 12PM, but we took stops on the road. Like eating breakfast at Bukidnon , in the morning. By the time we arrived at Cagayan De Oro , we had our lunch at a restaurant located on a hill. It offered us a buffet that satisfied our hunger from the road trip.
First plant visited: Philippine Sinter Corporation
This was the first plant that we visited by the time arrived at Cagayan De Oro city. When we entered the plant, we were guided in a room for a brief orientation of the history and the ups and downs of the plant. The Philippine Sinter Corporation , was incorporated by JFE Steel in 1974, one of the world’s largest steel makers. The company processes minerals in order to create sinter core that is essential in making quality steel. We weren’t able to visit the plant’s insides because the plant heightened their security because of something happened with the neighboring plants.
Second plant visited: Tanduay Distillers Incorporated – El Salvador
The second plant that we visit was the Tanduay Distillers Inc.. By the time that we visited the plant, we were guided inside the plant’s office and held a brief orientation of the plant’s history and the ups and downs of the plant. Tanduay was proud to present that their products are one of a kind, upholding great excellence in their products because they are confident that the products they make are of great quality , and that’s what made them known throughout the world. Tanduay is undoubtedly a national icon, known throughout the country.
