A Tenet is basically a doctrine or that which of principle is held as being true by a company or organization.

A common ethical plight that some case managers have to deal with is confidentially. Case managers work very closely with clients/ consumers availing them with some very sensitive and personal issues, which they may be going through or have gone through. Venerating the privacy of the clients/consumers, while upholding their ethical responsibility to the law is a stringent instruction that case managers must effectuate. I will expound on the tenets of confidentiality as they apply to case managers.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is essentially an ethical principle that has recourse to the” professionals’ duty to respect the client's privacy and the covenant to them that the information they have disclosed during counseling will be not be shared without their consent” (Herlihy&Remley, 2005). This effort is very critical for the client / case manager relationship. Trust boundaries are the framework within which the case manager /client relationship occurs, in order to feel secure enough to disclose personal information. To initiate these foundations case managers must undoubtedly make clear the laws, and the limitations that pertain to the code of ethics on confidentiality to their clients. Clients should completely comprehend this briefing and render a signed consent prior any case management takes place.

Appropriate Disclosure of Information
