Mumbaki Case

One of the conflict in the movie was the war dispute between Alimut tribe and Lidum tribe because of the misunderstanding and greediness of the Alimut tribe in owning a land. The Alimit tribe wanted to show to the Lidum tribe that they were strong and powerful that whatever they wants they will get eventhough it can harm many people. The conflict started between the unsettled marriage of Dolores from Alimut tribe to Joseph of Lidum tribe the Alimut tribe. Then on, it follows about the terretorial boundaries of who should own when the Alimut tribe were doing kaingin which the Lidum tribe do not permits because it will cause harm and the Anito might cursed them. From then on, the Alimut tribe misunderstood what the Lidum tribe wanted to convey to them and its against to their beliefs and traditions.

I think the consensus in the story though they were conflict between the two tribes was that they were aware of pneumonia edpidemic and able to help each tribe since Raymart Santiango and Joel Torre were the only doctors on the said area. They didn’t thought what might will happen to them in going to the Alimut tribe but as long as they can help the tribe to stop the epidemic in their area.

For me to eradicate the conflict between the tribe is to accept each differences,help each other for their fellow tribe, be more open-minded, and understand each ideas and talk any problems so that they will solve it without any physical violence and also to preserve the heritage and culture they have to show their identity of who they are and value the life of each individual.
