January: BEST DAY EVER

Topic: Blessed to give

Text: Acts 20:35

INTRODUCTION:

We all had best days. We all had fun describing each of them, posted each on our status, sharing them to others. But we all fail to share what it is like the day after each best days. Because after every best day, our life is never the same, we forget! That’s why we are here to remind each one of us, that there are instances in our lives that we should never forget and because of this, we will live each day as if it is the best day ever.

Week 1: Creation: Creation changes everything. It’s the very first BEST DAY EVER! From darkness to light. From nothing to something. From simple to complex. What we don't realize is that God has put the same principle when He created you.

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

“You are created to become an instrument for change in someone’s life.”

Week 2:  All will agree that Christmas is one of the BEST DAY EVER! We are changed so we can act in accordance to Him. Jesus was sent here to give as example how we can act in accordance to Him. Through this we will be able to comply and live the examples that Christ has set before us. One of the essence why we celebrate Christmas every year is because of this verse.

Acts 20:35 (ESV)

35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

I hope and pray na ito ang ating matandaan sa pag-aaral natin, that we are blessed to give.

Naalala niyo ba yung kantang… “Pasko na naman… O kay tulin ng araw… Kahit hindi pasko ay magbigayan.” At dun natin nakuha ang concept na araw – araw ay pasko.

Giving is more than money, you can give your time, love, patience, availability and other things.

But in reality it is not like that, madalas pag pinag-uusapan ang bagay na may kaugnayan sa pagbibigay, we react in different ways.

  • Lumalayo or umiiwas para hindi marinig ang pag – uusap tungkol sa pagbibigay
  • We have this conception “pera na naman”
  • You always ask, what you can get in return.

What hinders us to give?

  1. Closed – hand syndrome (Paano na ko, kulang pa nga eh)
  2. Pains caused by others (Unforgiving heart)

Jesus offers a stark challenge to all his followers:
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, Your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15

  1. Minimal knowledge about the blessings of giving

Anong gusto mo, mayaman sa Diyos o mayaman dito sa lupa?

Each of us has something of substance to give. We can give our time to assist a person in need. We can give our money to support a kingdom effort. We can help by volunteering our talents in helping others. It doesn’t matter how much natural ability or resources we possess. What matters to God is whether we make good use of what we have been given for His kingdom, whether big or small.
