While writing this paper I was thinking how to define critical thinking. There is no one definition, its one’s own ability to rationalize a situation by logically thinking about the best way to handle a situation. Being aware of the 6 step thinking process will challenge and enhance your ability to come to a rational decision. Whatever situation that was created think about the pros and cons. Evaluate the facts using more than just one source or reference. Analyze the situation, can you do this task in steps leading up to what you would like for final desired results will be. And if so what’s steps will you need to apply in order to do so.  Will you be able to explain the process to make others understand your actions? And will you be able to remember the process if you had to explain it again.

My results from my ethical lens inventory was reputation and I found that to be a fair assessment of me. I looked the definition of reputation and stated “the common opinion that people have about someone”. People always say I’m too nice and I don’t agree with that. It’s just that I try to treat people in a kind manner and take the rational approach when it comes to conflict.   But my blind spot which was unrealistic role expectation made me think. Just because I try to do the right thing all the time that does not mean that everyone has to live that way. My family is a close knit family whereas my husband’s family is so divided and I just can’t understand that. I’m always trying to get him to see things from my point of view and now I see I have an unrealistic role expectation. Knowing this will help me look at people in an unbiased way now.

My personal ethics has a lot to do with my morals. Always trying to do things by the book whether it be the good book (bible) or the law books. I’m not perfect in no way but it’s easier for me to do things and consider how this will affect others. I’m always considering other people’s feelings and not always thinking about myself. Which is not always the best thing for me. When it comes to making decisions by me married with 5 children I have to consider how it will affect us a whole. I tell my husband he’s selfish and he tells me I should cross over to his side its less stressful.
