The one Book I Would Choose

Reality television shows are made to attract millions of viewers and satisfy them by showing people and situations that they relate to. Even though it always may not be realistic, it always seems to grab the viewer’s attention and keep them coming for more. I am personally not a big fan of reality TV shows, but I used to have a few shows that interested me enough to keep tabs on: American Idol, The Biggest Loser, and Survivor. If I was chosen to participate in a reality television show set on a tropical island, the one book I would choose to read in my free time is Engineering Circuit Analysis, a scholarly textbook for Universities in the specific department of engineering. Since it is a scholarly textbook with many editions, I would choose the newest edition published with up to date information. I would select this book because I am an undergraduate majoring in electrical engineering. Reading is not my favorite activity, but I realize its essentiality in a student’s life who is seeking progression. Therefore, if I had some free time to read a book, it would be one that would guide and train me into becoming a successful and effective engineer.

I will be completely honest and say that I do not like the process of reading; in my opinion, I feel that it’s very hard to persistently read a novel or a textbook. However, I do love how reading greatly develops and strengthens one’s vocabulary, level of eloquence, and overall intelligence. That is why I always choose to disregard my personal preferences and read, because I understand and acknowledge the essential values of reading. Whenever I am assigned pages from a textbook or a novel from English, I usually read it. But when I am teaching myself, I tend to rely on the power of the World Wide Web. I use advanced technology to my advantage by searching terms on Google, watching tutorials on YouTube, and reading articles and postings on the web. I feel that books are becoming more and more obsolete as technology is being upgraded and advanced every day. With that being said it is important to mention that the authenticity and legitimacy of a published book is hard to compare with. Many online sources can’t always be trusted
