Abstract

In today's high-pressure environment, motivating all employees to consistently contribute their best can mean the difference between success and failure. Employees are motivated by both intrinsic and extrinsic rewards. Studies have found that money is not the most important motivator for employees. In fact, in some cases money was found to be a de-motivating factor. That is the reason managers are discovering that they must work in partnership with their employees, providing them with the tools they need for success by first determining exactly what tools they need and then working towards getting them the tools to be successful.

The purpose of this research is to clearly identify an effective strategy to use in the retention of the temporary work force or motivating them to continue working for Houston Air Handler & Furnace Factory and thereby keep the factory employees motivated to give their 100% effort 110% of the time. This will help Houston Air Handler & Furnace Factory achieve tremendous progress in their goals and expectations.

MOTIVATION

Motivation is a psychological tool that determines a person's behavior, his efforts and his persistence towards the end goal. All human beings are motivated differently. There has been lot of theories that can explain motivation in human being. I will go through some in this paper.

The role of motivation (Nicu, 2012) is very critical to the success of any company. Motivation just does not make employees work, but it also helps them to work efficiently. Motivation also helps employees to identify their full physical and intellectual potential. Motivation is a two way street. It gives personal satisfaction to the employee and in turn the company gets productivity and performance. So in a way it is a win-win situation.

Historically motivated employees have contributed heavily in various categories.
