Competitive Advantage

In any business weather its profit or non profit business environment to sustain competitive advantage the key elements are the firm’s resources, including assets, organizational core competencies, knowledge, and processes. The four characteristics used to create a competitive advantage are:

i. The resources must be valuable: Being that our business will service people that are less unfortunate to become someone better in the society. And try to reduce the poverty level of the country even though I know that Nigeria needs a miracle because of all the corruption. And hoping that if people see the value of the organization that too would want to help.

ii. The resources must be rare: We all know that charities aren’t rare but it all depends on the programs they provide. I motioned that we are focusing on having programs that will help people less fortunate to get of their feet and be able to help them self and once that is done, we will check on them to make sure they are on the right path and doing well. So there would be room for another individual to join the program.

iii. The resources must be imperfectly imitable: This organization will be one of a kind and be difficult to duplicate being that most charity just feed and house homeless people and we want to change that look.

iv. The resources must be nonsubstitutable: There won’t be any other organization like A Mother’s love. My passion is to enlighten other to make a difference to society. And all I want is for Nigeria to be a better place and if other organization want to join in they can all do join in because there are different ways of teaching people.

It’s not easy for a nonprofit organization to establish a sustainable competitive advantage because A Mother’s Love isn’t in for profit it’s all about trying to change
