Summary

Drexler’s World Famous Bar-B-Que is the epitome of the American Dream come true for a hard-working African-American family. Located in a low-income neighborhood, it serves not only as a beacon to the community in terms of being socially responsible; but it is also a place customers can visit and expect a down-home consistency they can look forward to. They have kept the business in their family, and have made moves to continuously improve operations and space while remaining firmly rooted and grounded in solid Christian values. Mrs. Scott and her sons were very savvy to incorporate the NBA memorabilia into the theme. It gives customers the feeling that they are sharing in Clyde’s memories and accomplishments as a professional athlete. The restaurant description provided in the case gives the feeling of visiting a loving family member’s home with the personal touch Mrs. Scott adds by attending to her guests. If I am ever in Houston, Drexler’s is a place I will definitely visit.
