In my presentation I will say about authorities’ difficult but possible aim for İstanbul’s economy and historical beauty. Historical peninsula which is known for first established and developed of İstanbul, included the most beautiful and important monuments. Historical peninsula is between the golden horn(Haliç)- the Sea of Marmara and walls but it is not paid enough attention and the historical buildings are damaged significantly. I think our government and we as a citizen should realize this damage and authorities should take upon responsibility themselves for protecting the historical buildings. Istanbul, which has a history of 27 centuries, has become the capital of the 3 empires Rome, Constantinople and Ottoman. We know that Istanbul is a history, trade, tourism and art city. The most beautiful and important monuments of the city, which remain among the Golden Horn, the Sea of Marmara and the walls, are collected together at the peninsula that is known to be established in the first place of Istanbul. The reason why the area is named as a historical peninsula is that Istanbul is not only the oldest settlement place but also consists of numerous historical monuments inside. It is mostly possible to follow the traces of the cultural heritages that are left over from the 3 empires in Istanbul at this region. Historical peninsula includes Sirkeci, Eminonu, Sultanahmet Square, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Beyazit, Grand Bazaar, Kumkapi, Unkapani, Aksaray, Yenikapi, Topkapi, Fatih, Edirnekapı… This place, which is also named as a Walled City (Suriçi), is decorated with mosques, churches, madrasahs, palaces, monuments with sculpture, inn and public baths. It is the city region that includes most of the historical monuments in a narrow region in the world. Tens of palaces, mosques, churches, fountains, obelisk and markets, which are left over from Ottoman and Constantinople, are the symbols of the peninsula. In historical peninsula, millions of people
