College: a likely possibility for students after high school. People often question the value and importance of a college education. They wonder why they should pay so much money for just "a piece of paper". It is more than just the piece of paper though, and saying you have the education, it is what you do with it afterward. A college education is of high importance because it can help a person with a salary, it can make it easier to find a job, and it can help a person discover what he or she wants to do in life.

In today's world, money is power. A college diploma proves to people that the graduate is smart and willing to work, so they are worth getting paid a fair amount. Sure, a person has to pay a lot to go to college, but the money he or she can gain eventually makes up for it. People with college degrees are more respected and are seen as higher value in some workplaces because they can bring in more money, so they can get more money. It is as simple as that.

Along with money, a college education will open up numerous job opportunities for a graduate. In this day and age, the unemployment rate is high, so job offerings are tight. But when businesses see that a college graduates searching for a job, they are likely to be looked at, even accepted for a position. Businesses respect college educations because they believe that graduates can be used to their advantage. People with degrees are seen as tools to make more money, as mentioned in the previous paragraph, because businesses think the graduates are going to make more money than a non-graduate would. Graduates are viewed as smarter, more determined people, so why wouldn't they be hired.

College is a place where students learn what they really want to do with their lives. Once they have figured it out, they can use it their advantage. With a college degree and an idea of his or her future, a person's horizons are broadened. He or she can immediately try
