Little Things Mean a Lot

I .Executive Summary:

The Bits and Pieces International Corporation (BPIC), an injection molded plastic products manufacturer, became a fast-growing company within a span of four (4) years. Due to its company’s market potential they have decided to expand by means of adding new product, the tissue holder. In order to do so, they need to improve its facilities including land, building, machinery and equipment, thus additional manpower is required.

II. Introduction:

Background of the Problem

The Bits and Pieces International Corporation is one company that issucceeding and is very fast growing in four years since its Certificate ofIncorporation was approved. The company is producing various injectionmolded plastic products classified as consumer and industrial. Growth hasbeen part of its agenda for the next few years. The company classified as amanufacturing corporation, operates on two activities: 1) production ofstocks to be sold at the local market and 2) production as a subcontractor.At current output levels, the company was declared profitable. An analysis

of the company’s market potential convinced the management to considerexpansion. They still lack sound and well-thought business plan in order toachieve sustained growth.

III. Body:

Key Issues/Goals/Problems: “Statement of the Problem”

  • What is the most effective organizational structure for the expansion of the company?
  • What could be the best way to make the company’s sales force?
  • What could be the most appropriate solution to easily distribute the labor in the company as it expands?

 ALTERNATIVE COURSE OF ACTION

Because manpower requirement is highly considered in expansion, the company must provide larger quantity within each position that will be added to their organizational chart. Hiring more helpers that will be assigned in the production line will be very useful in expediting the company’s manufacturing procedure because segregation and distribution of products over time will also increase, thus profit margin will be pull up as well.
