Case Report

  1. Identify the stages of team development in the approach taken by the company to establish teamwork at its worldwide locations.

As a transnational team, they need implementing change and capturing opportunities. According the course content to build the building transnational teamwork strategy. The team needs differentiated roles and responsibility, manager do not let single perspective dominant and do not search for standardized coordination process. And also team should try to develop and apply different tools to different. As explained by Wymer, leader of the Siemens team, the stage and process of the team building system begins with the development team and then builds and builds relationships from the members. Initially, staff may act in a panicky manner, although in fact most of them work together for a long time. At this stage, the intention is to create a complete team. The next stage is that everyone sitting together to discuss issues, go to the movies and play games. This is called classroom style. So the whole group can correctly identify the issues affecting the business needs more time. According to the case mentioned in the case, team-building process requires a team with some sub-activities of the system and progressive meetings, through the activities of each person to understand their role in the team, and everyone accepted their role in the team.

  1. Although the company faces cultural differences in implementing a global information system, what other obstacles might it face when integrating teams from many different societies?

I think the company will also face more different opinions and decisions because of cultural differences. And because of cultural differences, in a team which will have a different way of thinking and doing things. Rather, some of the challenges include assimilating these systems with other same procedures experienced in foreign locations. This process is harmonious in the other nine countries that use a variety of languages. About the culture toughness, how well an expat can adjust to a particular culture relative to other cultures Ultimately, the organization envisions a brand that not only builds a collaborative team, but also integrates the software of the global network system.
