When watching television commercial, or even listening to the radio ads do you ever wonder what is really true, or are you just one that believes what you hear and purchase the product. We are going to look at a couple of advertisements and discuss what we should be aware of.

In many ads for weight loss products, under the product claims and in small print, the following statement is made: "These results are not typical." What does this say about the product being advertised? The reason why the results are not typical is because each individual on their journey of losing weight is different. What might work for one person is not necessarily going to work for you, what you aren't guaranteed is to lose what that that person lost in the ad. They are only giving us the best results they have gotten from their products and it does not mean "average" Also when an ad states "results not typical" I stay away because to me they haven't proved anything about their product. If it was me I would go with the ads that at least say 100% guaranteed or your money back. And in the end it all comes down to how much weight you want to lose, age and how active you are.

The next ad is for moisturizing lotion, the following claim is made: …"it's the #1 dermatologist recommended brand." What is misleading about this claim is that first of all how do we know for sure that it was recommended by dermatologist, and not scientist doing testing. Also there are no percentages of people who used it and where happy about it and other data such as 4 out of 5 dermatologists recommend this brand. It would be a good idea to contact the company or even ask your person doctor or dermatologist.

So we can see from the example ads that things are not as they seem, they are not black and white and it is always best to research things before trying them out. Do not always believe
