1. According to the textbook, your first goal of informative speaking is to arouse the interest of your audience. What are two ways to do this? Using your own words, explain your answers. (Refer to Chapter 8.)

Two ways to arouse the interest of your audience are by making the information relevant to the audience and make the information new. To make the information relative to the audience, a speaker will want to study the demographics of the audience and explain how the information affects them. The second way of arousing the interest of the audience can be done by offering a new perspective or present a new angle on the topic.

2. The second goal of informative speaking is to present the information in a way that will be understood by your audience. What are two ways to do this? Using your own words, explain your answers. (Refer to Chapter 8.)

Two ways to present the information in a way that will be understood by your audience are to use simple language and to use visual aid. Using simple language is speaking using normal words that are relative to the audience and not speaking in jargon or using language that only an audience familiar of the topic would understand. Visual aid stimulates the minds of the people in the audience and provides clarity to what is being talked about in a speech.

3. The third goal of informative speaking is to help your audience remember what you have said. What are two ways to do this? Using your own words, explain your answers. (Refer to Chapter 8.)

Two ways to help an audience remember what you have said are the use of repetition and association. Repetition can be done by restating the most important points of the topic throughout the speech and again at the conclusion.
