Should firearms be illegal in the United States?

People in the world have distinct points of view about certain topics, different from other people's thoughts, some would defend the idea and the others will reject them. One of the topics that makes people argue is the idea of carrying a weapon, a great amount of people are agreed with the law that makes the weapons legal, but also there are the ones who think that carrying a weapon is not a good idea because it is dangerous. In the United States of America, carrying a weapon is seen normal because it is legal, and almost the 75 percent of the people have one, but there are certain places in which weapons are not allowed like hospitals in which the entrance of firearms are restricted. More than a half of the people in the United States have a firearm and this can be the cause of the high rate of criminal act.

“Weapons are machines or some kind of tools created for some purpose, such as hunting”. But actually, society uses them to hurt people, creating violence and disturbing peace in the whole world. Weapons are used to steal, threaten, and to take someone’s life, it could be himself or another person’s or even a whole community. “In the United States in 2001, statistics show that firearms were used in 63 percent of murders; the FBI reported that there were 15,980 murders and non-negligent homicides in the United States that year. About 10,000 people were murdered with guns”. Weapons were created to destroy. They are powerful machines that people with disturbed personalities, psychological problems, and bad thoughts use to create terror. Thanks to weapons, a lot of families are broken apart, some people are suffering because of the loss of a person who they love due to these weapons. The weapons in the United States can be sold to everybody over eighteen years old. More than the half of United States people carry a weapon. Other statistics made in Texas in the last 3 years show that for every 10 persons, 8 carry their own weapon. This increases the criminal rate more than a 50 percent, because the more weapons sold, the more chance of murder.

It is not difficult to buy a weapon in the United States, in almost every city there are more than two gun shops. You can have a firearm as long as you are eighteen or more and you have never been to prison. But this is not enough of a requirement for gun sellers, because there are very dangerous people who pass these requirements and are perpetrators in the criminal acts. When you carry a gun in your pocket you feel reliant that nobody will get involved with you, your ego will increase and you will become more aggressive and in defensive mode. This could be good in certain things, but when your ego increases a lot you will think that you are the best and your personality would turn more aggressive. When you feel even the least threat and you carry a gun your brain will be turned to defense mode and you will act by instinct without thinking reasonable and in the consequences that this will carry, and this is how the crimes are committed. “An eight years old child accidently shot his little brother with his father’s gun”. The weapons should be hidden from children. There are some cases in which a kid finds a gun and without knowing what it is or even how to use it, they will play with them and this might cause some occasions where the gun will fire and kill or injure someone like in this case. This is not the children’s fault, because the fault will be on his father who let the weapon available to the child. People with mental problems caused by bullying are often thinking of revenge and make people suffer. According to U.S. news commonly reports that this repressed people will have violent thinking and this leads to a massacre like the Columbine massacre. The two perpetrators bought the weapons that killed twelve people legally. The more the weapons that are sold, the more crimes that will be committed. So do you really think that firearms are appropriate for community?
