Because there are various ways or modes for pathogens to enter your body, the best way to educate someone else about this would probablly be through verbal communication or written information. Pathogens can easily, and most commonly do, enter the body through social interaction such as sexual intercourse and sometimes even airborne, through basic verbal communication where droplets of saliva may be present. Because there are many different ways for pathogens to enter the body, I am not sure there is any ONE effective way to educate anyone of their transmission. However, I do think that once a person is educated or made aware on how pathogens can enter the body, such as airborne, direct contact, perinatal, or through food, they will have a better chance at decreasing their chances of pathogens entering their body and increase their chances of becoming healthier. For me to educate someone on the routes of transmission of pathogens I must first inform he/she what a pathogen is. The definition of a pathogen is-A bacterium, virus, or other microorganism that can cause disease. They are a number of different types of pathogens such as bloodborne or foodborne pathogens. Pathogen be transmitted in many different ways. One way someone can contract a pathogen is simply by ingesting it meaning it is easily for one to contract ecoli because if one eats food that has been contaminated.http://www.cnn.com/2011/09/27/health/cantaloupe-deaths/index.html.Another route for transmission of pathogens is through sexual contact, open cuts or sores or needles. A growing epidemic in the united states everyday. The best ways to protect ourselves against bloodborne pathogens is to have protected sex, try to keep all cuts covered and never share needles.http://safety.science.tamu.edu/bloodborne.html. Washing the foods we eat before we prepare them is also a safe way not to contaminate others.
