Introduction:

Mr Bean first started out their business in 1995 and they now have 50 outlets located islandwide. Mr Bean is a leading chain store retailing in soya bean products and beverages. Providing the young and old with a variety of soya bean food items as well as soya bean drinks. Some examples are their ice cream, pastries and pancakes.

Mr Bean possesses the technology and experience in the production of fresh and delectable products with high nutritional value as they adopt a fast food concept. Only using the finest and highest grade of NGMO (non genetically modified) beans in every product.

Mr Bean also constantly launches new products that are made to suit customers preferences.

Some of these products include chendol soya milk which is one popular dessert amongst Singaporeans. The coconut milk originally found in the dessert is replaced with a healthier choice-Soya milk. There are also various soya milk blended together with fruits to make it an even more healthier choice. Although there is a need to be innovative, they still preserve the traditional taste of their first and original product, soya milk and soya beancurd.

Mr Bean is poised to expand rapidly in the region with a visionary management team and a commitment to provide new and delectable products.

Analysis Of 4 Environmental Factors:

The four environmental factors that will affect the business of Mr Bean are changing demographics, global consumer preferences, technological innovations and globalization of production.

Changing demographics:

In Singapore, we are experiencing an aging population. There are certain factors contributing to this. There is a reduction is fertility rate, falling death rates and the “baby boomer” generation which is gradually growing. This will gradually result in a larger older population and having fewer younger generation. Older workers are perceived to be less efficient as compared to the youngsters. The labor force also consist more women than compared to the past. Conditions have improved over the years and giving women more chances to receive the same amount of education as men. Changing demographics will affect Mr Bean's business as the company will have to constantly look for younger people and this usually means foreigners. Another option would be improving the skills and knowledge of older staff so that they can be as efficient as the younger staffs.

Global Consumer Preferences:

Singapore is a cosmopolitan city which consists of people from all over the world and many different cultures. The media also has influences over what customers prefer and also what they expect from us. Every consumer have very different needs and likings. Some prefer a healthier diet, variety of choices
