Introduction
Our first Business Environment assignment is to do a research and write an essay about McDonald’s company. McDonald’s is the leading company in the fast food industry. The McDonald's Corporation is the world's largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, serving around 68 million customers daily in 119 countries across 35,000 outlets. Through this assignment, I will learn to apply what I have learned in Business Environment class to real life situation. I am given 21 days to complete the task and it is due on the 20th February 2015.
After various consultations with my lecturer Madam Kamariah Bt Abdullah, I have clear picture of what is expected out of this assignment and it can be divided into few smaller tasks.
Our research paper is divided in three tasks. For task 1, I am required to identify the purpose of different types of organisation and find McDonald’s mission, values and key objectives. In task 2, I am required to describe to the extent to which an organisation meets the objectives of different stakeholders and lastly in task 3, I have to explain the responsibilities of an organisation and strategies employed to meet them.
This assignment must be prepared according to certain format such as the required font and assignment format. Our paper must also be accompanied by Conclusion and References.
Task 1
Identify and describe purpose and ownership of different types of organisation.
According to Keith Davis, "Organisation may be defined as a group of individuals, large of small, that is cooperating under the direction of executive leadership in accomplishment of certain common object." In my opinion, organisation is when a group of individuals that work together under a leader in order to achieve a certain goal or purpose.
