Marketing Strategy Baby Diapers

In most of asian countries, the usage of baby dipaers has been increasing in the last 10 years. But the product penetration is tsill under 60%, while in other developed countries, the baby diapers penetration already achieved 98%. The two important keys are education and purchasing power. One of the smart strategy that can be used as effective marketing strategy in asian countries is by educating the new moms to use the baby diapers. It will need a consistent effort to give these kind of education in hospitals.

One of the chalenges in ueducating the new moms is the purchasing power. Eventhough we can convince them the benefits of using diapers (form moms and baby) but at the end the consumers will facing the classic problem, purchasing power. To solve this classic problem, we can use the simple marketing and sales approach: selling diapers in small pcs counts. Selling diapers in sachet packaging (consist 0f 1 pc diaper) will be a new effective approcah to increase the baby diapers penetration in developing countries. Marketer should start this approach by educating consumers to use baby diapers on the night. they would need 1 pc diaper per day> after they getting familiar and exeperience the real benefit of using diapers then marketer can easily increase the number of usage by giving some tactical selling promotion.
