Introduction to metalwork bending

        Far away in Thailand, To bending some steel structure was much harder than today. When some one want to bending steel such as steel pipe or plat steel, they have to smashed the metal to make it bend to the shape they wanted. This process has very poor in efficiency and quality. Because to smashing something, it will left an scratch and crack on it surface also taking too long time. But when the knowledge of bending steel was introduced to Thailand , to bending steel was much easier. Tube bending  is a metal forming process that used to permanently form pipe or tube. It can be basically separate to fix -form procedure and free-form procedure described below.

        fix-form bending is the procedure to bend a pipe into a shape of die. Which means that one die can be used to forming in one size of pipe and one radius. This type of machine are named as “press bending” or “rotary draw bending”. This machine are very useful in general construction field. It can bending a workpiece in prompt time and more accurately. But the mostly problem of the machine is that it has required the wide range of die to perform to various of drawing. It’s mean that if the detail of work are not match to a die the manufacturer had. It’s cannot be bending in anyway. To solving this big problem, free-form bending has been introduced.

        free-form bending is the procedure to bend a pipe into various shape. The procedure are done by three roll bending which can adjust their position to create the contour of workpiece into many radius. This type of machine are more widely use that the first type. The principle of three roll bending are created many bending machine that separately used for many type of workpiece. eg. three roll plate bending machine, three roll pipe bending machine. Etc.

        To focus on the bending industry. This kind of business was categorized in steel industrial factory which performing on bending, folding and cutting on steel referenced from department of industrial works of Thailand. The size of industry are hardly to calculate due to mostly company are not involve in stock exchange of Thailand.
