Introduction

Overview

Business organizations are strategically focusing on various approaches to maximize their human resource potential. Employee commitment and retention in the global private sector companies has also been a challenging factor for the top management. This happens due to the favorable workplace culture at the government organizations with job security, pay packages and other benefits. The workplace culture policy of every organization has direct or indirect impact on the performance of the employees.

Topic and Purpose

The organization culture is influenced by the geographical region and demographic factors of the employees. This research will examine the impact of various organization culture traits on the overall performance of the employee. Employee retention factor can be considered as a vital source of competitive advantage for an organization. Every employee in the organization posses his/ her own understanding and assumption about the workplace culture.

Significance of the study

Many studies related to the impact of the workplace culture on the commitment and retention of the employee towards their organization has been conducted yet.  But only few of the researchers have conducted research on this topic in Middle East countries. Inspite of many studies some questions related to the organization culture, workforce management, employee performance, employee commitment and employee retention are still unfolded especially in terms of the companies situated in Gulf countries such as UAE, Oman, Kuwait etc.
