Introduction:

The Coca-Cola Company was originally established as the J. S. Pemberton Medicine Company, a co-partnership between Dr. John Stith Pemberton and Ed Holland in 1886 (Acamedia.edu,n.d.). The company is the world's largest beverage company and is the leading producer and marketer of soft drinks. Besides its namesake Coca-Cola beverage, Coca-Cola currently offers nearly 400 brands in over 200 countries or territories and serve 1.9 billion servings each day which including Diet Coke, Fanta, Spirte, Coca-Cola Zero, vitaminwater, Powerade, Minute Maid, Simply, Georgia and Del Valle ( Coca-Cola Profile Company, 2014).

Market overview

Leading brand Coca-Cola is seen as a symbol brings pleasure to everyone (Vietq.vn, 2014). Also, the company creates a large market for beverage consumption as it has a strong soft-drinking tendency as well as a country of the youth love these convenient products. “Australia ranks second when it comes to Coca-Cola consumption. The average Aussie tipped back the equivalent of 324 eight-ounce drinks in 2008, up 63 percent from 1988.” (Latitudenews, n.d.). Beverage consumption is expected to increase in the recent years due to the growth of population quickly in developing country like Australia increasing in the vicinity of one million people per year. “The Australian beverage business represents about 70% of group operating earnings. It has a 56 per cent share of the carbonated soft drinks market through its iconic Coke brand and its derivatives.” (The Sydney Morning Herald, 2010). Otherwise, hundreds of soft drink products of a lot of famous brand names have introduced every years especially Pepsi, can pose a great competition for Coca-Cola Company
